The deception that "the evolution of the horse has been proven by the fossil record"

For decades now, 'the evolution of the horse' has been portrayed as one of the best documented proofs of evolution. Four-legged mammals which lived at different times have been lined up, from small to large, and these "horse series" exhibited in museums of natural history. Research in recent years, however, has revealed that the creatures in the series were not one another's ancestors, that the sequence is gravely mistaken, and that the creatures portrayed as the ancestors of the horse actually emerged after the horse.
